Awesome Icebreaker Game - The Crazy Cards Challenge Activity
This is a great game that you can play as an icebreaker at the beginning of the year (or anytime really) to help kids develop connections, laugh, get to know each other and have a good time working together to complete a challenge.
This game is good for all ages - even adults :-)
The challenge is to finish all 60 task cards in the shortest amount of time possible.
The real purpose of the game is just to “break the ice” - to have fun working together, to get kids laughing with one another and to provide some teachable moments about the power of connections and being brave.
Setup:
● Normally I have the students/participants circle up in the middle of the gym and spread the cards face down on the ground in front of them.
● For one smaller class - 1 deck is good. If you have more than 25-30 students I would print 2 decks.
Rules:
● The goal of the game is for everyone to work together to accomplish all of the task cards as quickly as possible. Some of the cards can be accomplished alone, but many of them will require the help of someone else. So be aware that you’ll need to help teammates out in order to complete the challenge.
● Once your task is completed, bring the card to your teacher and place it face down in their hand, then go pick up another card. If there are no cards available, try to find someone else with a card and help them complete their task.
● Everyone gets ONE redo (you can put a card back and choose another one)
● When all the cards have been turned in - the teacher will stop the timer

Best in Class Pacer Test Certificate |Fitnessgram Testing Supplement|
Note: This certificate is also available in my bundle package along with many other Fitnessgram Certificates
Please check out my store to view the bundle
I use this certificate during fitness testing. We give out certificates to the highest scoring boy and girl from each class. This creates a healthy spirit of competition in our gym and also awards students for excellent achievement.
At the end of each class during our fitness testing period we hold an "awards ceremony" for those students who scored the highest on each test. After giving them the certificate we ask them to give the class a helpful tip or one of their "secrets for success".
Giving out awards is a quick and easy way to motivate students and award excellent achievement.
It's also a great parent communication tool, because every student who receives an award will show it to their parents, which sheds a positive light on your Physical Education program.
I hope it works for you.

25 Exercise Station Signs + 10 One Page Workout Posters |Awesome for PE Class|
This download contains 2 high quality PDF documents:
25 Exercise Station Signs Download:
- 25 different exercises
- Each page has an adolescent model performing the exercise
- Each page has the targeted component of fitness (Muscular Endurance, Flexibility, Cardio)
10 One Page Workouts Download:
- Each page has a one page workout that can be completed in the AMRAP style (as many rounds as possible)
- Each workout has the targeted component of fitness for that specific workout
I created this resource because I couldn’t find any exercise posters that were designed for students, everything I found had adult examples.
I wanted some simple posters with a girl and boy adolescent example. I also wanted the component of fitness being targeted to be listed on each exercise.
How I Use This Resource:
Normally, I have 2-3 signs at each of the 6 stations around the room and we rotate through a Interval Workout of 30 seconds on – 15 seconds off. So students do the exercise for 30 seconds then when the timer buzzes they rotate to the next station and have 15 seconds to rotate and rest.
I always have 2-3 exercise options at each station so students can switch if they get too tired (burpees for 30 seconds is pretty tough).
After they learn all of the exercises, I switch it up by allowing them to choose from the One Page Workouts and try to complete as many rounds as they can in a 3-5 minute time limit.
You can also project them on a screen if you have one available in your teaching space.
Hope you enjoy using them as much as I have!

Fitnessgram Goal Setting Guide |PE Fitness Testing Supplement|
This is a 2 page worksheet that I created to supplement my Fitness Unit.
I use it with my 4th and 5th grade students and they write their scores down for each of the Fitnesgram assessments that we do and then set a goal for the end of the year.
There is a box for Pacer, Curlups, Pushups, Sit and Reach and one extra box marked “other” if you have your students perform another test other than the ones listed.
I really like using this, because it allows students to see their progress and learn the basics of goal setting.
Hope it’s helpful!

Parent Letter for PE Class - Forgot My Shoes, Got Injured, Time Out Form
This is a great system that I created in order to cut down on the time I spent dealing with students who were unable to participate and it allows the teacher to focus more time on teaching. It also increases parent communication and gives students some accountability.
I have created a full page worksheet and a half page worksheet for those that want to save paper.
The best way to implement this management system is to have multiple forms already on clipboards hanging on the wall and explain the procedure to students. This way when students come in with inappropriate shoes or are injured they know to go directly to the wall and fill out a form. We also use this same form for time outs, injuries or any situation when the student can't participate.
This decreases distraction for the teacher and streamlines the beginning of the lesson, which can sometimes become delayed when students immediately come up to you with excuses about being unprepared for class.
I hope it works for you as well as it has for us!
Thanks.

The Good Sportsmanship Code Poster
This is a poster that I use at my school called the Good Sportsmanship Code.
This is a statement/pledge that I have printed on the wall and anytime a class has trouble using good sportsmanship during a game, we immediately stop the gameplay and bring everyone over to the poster and recite the code together.
More info and a video example linked in the download.

Daily Self Assessment for Physical Education |+ Related Arts|
This is an easy way to get assessment in each day.
It increases communication between teacher and student and helps set expectations and hold students accountable.
I really love how it provides a time each day for students to do some self reflection and take responsibility for their performance in class.
I am a PE Teacher - but this system can easily be used for any subject.
Hope it works for you!

An Easy and Fun PE Game: Noodle Dance Tag
Everyone needs a couple of games in their back pocket that don’t take long to explain and they can play with kids quickly if they have little time at the end of a lesson or as a warm up at the beginning.
For me one of those games is Noodle Dance Tag.
It’s a classic freeze tag game except instead of being frozen you dance in place and do a fist pump.
It’s simple and great for all ages.
Please watch the video and download the lesson plan or activity guide below.
